Who We Serve

Is Harmony Right for My Family?

Often families face circumstances that make attending a traditional public school difficult or impossible. A parent’s choice to educate their children comes with great sacrifice, however, that doesn’t mean they have to go without support. Our School-at-Home solution has proven effective for many families considering situations and factors such as:

Adventurous Learners

School-at-Home can enable families to peruse advanced educational goals and special interests.

Parents may identify a method or approach that they believe is effective for a child that may be struggling to perform at school.

World Travelers

For families who embrace travel as a regular part of life, offering academic consistency wherever adventures may lead.

Safety

Repeated bullying, drugs, or other social issues may lead a child to benefit from a home learning environment.

School at Home Comparison

School-at-Home closely resembles homeschooling except children are enrolled in one of our partner public schools while parents select from a variety of curricula that align with state standards. Like homeschooling, parents take on the primary role in their child’s education, but with added structure, guidance, and support from Harmony and the public school. While School at Home may not be the right fit for every family, it offers a balance of flexibility and support that works well for many.

What happens after I submit the form?

Once you submit the form we will send you an email with everything you need.  It will include a link to complete IHLA’s online application for enrollment.  It will also direct you to create a Harmony account where you can complete orientation, register for courses, and spend you educational allowance.

What’s the difference between school-at-home, public school, and homeschool, and how does Harmony bring them together?

Public school typically involves students attending a traditional school building with set schedules, while homeschooling is directed entirely by parents with no connection to public school systems. School-at-home combines elements of both, providing structure, curriculum, and resources similar to public school but with the flexibility and independence of homeschooling.

Harmony bridges these systems seamlessly. Through partnerships with public schools, we offer families the freedom to customize their child’s education with tuition-free funding, while still meeting state standards. Parents can mix and match online and textbook-based curriculum, and students can participate in extracurricular activities at local schools—all with the personalized support of dedicated mentors and certified teachers.

What is Harmony's relationship with Public School?

Harmony partners with Public Schools to provide families with flexible, tuition-free educational options. This collaboration allows students to remain enrolled in the public school system while benefiting from Harmony’s personalized learning programs. Families have access to allotment funds, mentors, certified teachers, and curriculum choices, ensuring students receive the best of both worlds—public school resources and the flexibility of homeschool-style education.

This partnership enables Harmony to support families in meeting state education standards while offering the freedom to customize learning experiences that align with their child’s unique needs and interests.

When can I enroll my child in Harmony?

Enrollment for the upcoming school year in Harmony begins each year at the end of January. Spots are limited, so enrollment will remain open until all spaces are filled or October 1—whichever comes first. To ensure your child has a place, we encourage you to apply as early as possible!
